Southwest of the island, just off Anse Dufour (considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world) is Anse Noire. Rent a car and discover this almost hidden beach, where turtles swim.
Martinique has many beautiful places, and some of them are well kept “secrets”. Anse Noire, in the town of Anses d’Arlet, is one of the most hidden places, well preserved from mass tourism, mainly because it is not so easy to go to the black sand beach. You must indeed go down 137 steps to reach it. That is surely why Anse Noire is a peaceful place, especially on weekdays.
Very narrow, this black sand beach has a few coconuts trees, a dock, a small hotel/restaurant and fishermen come lay their nets and boats. The place has an authentic charm and has a characteristic that nature lovers will appreciate: the water of this small cove has turtles. You just need a mask, a snorkel and flippers to swim among them.
A little advice from Jumbo Car Martinique : rent an economical car to go to Anse Noire and to visit the whole island of Martinique.
Anse Noire is a beach located in the city of Anses-d'Arlet, in the southwest of Martinique. To get there, from the road D7, take the little road of Anse Dufour and, once arrived on the seaside, turn on your right. There, you will find a parking lot, near the stairs leading to the beach.
