For the first time, this year, Martinique will host a qualification stage of the World Surfing League. Find out more details on the event and where to rent a car to get there.
World Surf League, which is none other than the world surf championship in 2015, is obviously a major sporting event. And this year, for the first time, Martinique will be a part of it. From the 21st to the 26th of April, a qualification stage (called MSP – Martinique Surf Pro) will be held in the town of Basse-Pointe.
Many great surfers from all-around the world have already confirmed their presence at the MSP, including the Polynesian Steven Pierson, the South African Chris Frolich, the American Griffin Colapinto and the Guadeloupean Leo Etienne.
The competition will be livened up by a “village” where we will find several snack bars, restaurants and shops. A big launch party will be held at Domaine Saint-Aubin in Trinité, on April, the 18th, 2015. For the occasion, Erik Pedurand, the DJ Antoine Flecher and DJ D.Dream will perform.
A little advice from Jumbo Car Martinique : rent a sports car to go to the MSP 2015.
The Martinique Surf Pro 2015 will be held in Basse-Pointe city (in the north of the island), from the 21st to the 26th of April. The surfing spot and the "village" will be easily accessible by car. Consider renting one.
